RE:  DRIVE ACCESS PERMITS 

Confirmation for a drive access permit shall be made at the Lenawee County Road Commission, 2461 Treat Highway, Adrian, Michigan 49221, to confirm access to a county road. Due to new zoning laws a landowner is now being required to obtain confirmation of drive access before selling property. 

Once the application is submitted, along with the permit fee of $50.00, the information is then given to the area foreman for his review (which normally takes three to four days). 

There is no certificate of insurance required for this process. This is not a permit to install a driveway. This is just a conformation that a driveway may be installed at this location in the future, at which time the new property owner would be required to apply for a driveway permit.  No application for a drive access permit will be accepted without all of the appropriate paperwork such as maps, blueprints, and/or etc… 

There is no expiration on the confirmation as long as the property is not split or the property lines moved. This should be kept with property papers so applicant will not be required to apply again.
