DUST CONTROL POLICY

 

Lenawee County Rd. Commission does one solid application of Salt Brine to all local gravel roads and two solid applications of Salt Brine on all primary gravel roads sometime during the summer.   We will do the Salt Brine application after the road has been scraped. We start applying the Salt Brine in mid May and continue each day (weather permitting) until the entire county is complete.  Some townships have contracted with the Road Commission to do extra Salt Brine or Chloride applications.  There is nothing beyond this we can do for dust control.  Seeing as we have had such dry weather the past two summers, you may want to use some water on the section of road in front of your house to help control the dust and it will help activate the chemicals once we have applied them.
