Frost Laws

are ON as of FRIDAY MARCH 5th 2010 6:00 a.m.

What are Frost laws?

Frost Laws are the Seasonal Weight Restrictions.  This law is to help preserve and protect the road systems throughout Michigan.  Each county will have its own time period for the restrictions during the thawing and refreezing of the springtime weather.

The Frost laws restrictions:

On roads that have frost restrictions in effect the per axle weight loading is reduced by 35%.  Speed limits are also reduced for every vehicle over 10,000 lbs. gross weight, down to 35 MPH.
